Aston Villa 1-0 Manchester City

Goal scorer: Duran 17′

With just one win in 11 games, Manchester City traveled to Villa Park in the midst of their worst crisis since the days of Stuart Pearce.

It only took 15 seconds for Villa to have their first chance, but Jhon Duran grabbed a shot from the edge of the box when he should have done better.

City persisted with their high line and were made to pay in the 17th minute when Youri Tielemans played a stunning ball to Morgan Rogers, who passed to Duran for the striker to finish.

Grealish impressed on the left and it was his cross that gave City their best chance just before half-time when he fed Josko Gvardiol who headed just over the bar.

In the second half, Villa almost doubled their lead in the 50th minute, but Matty Cash’s shot crashed into the side netting when he should have done better.

Shortly afterwards, Duran had the ball in the net, but his goal was canceled due to offside.
