🚨 Rúben Amorim reveals the reason for excluding Rashford and Garnacho

Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has revealed ahead of Sunday’s derby that neither Marcus Rashford nor Alejandro Garnacho are injured.

Both men have been left out of United’s squad for Sunday’s game against Manchester City, with Rasmus Højlund leading the Red Devils side.

And speaking to Sky Sports ahead of the game at the Etihad, the Portuguese tactician admitted he dropped the pair for reasons other than fitness.

“We try to evaluate everything: training performance, game performance, engagement with teammates, motivation of their teammates,” he said.

“Everything is at stake when we analyze the players and try to select them. It’s my choice. Very easy.”

“I don’t want to send a message, it’s just a review and they know it. The players are really, really smart. Everyone understands my decision and I have to decide. It’s an easy choice.”

“Of course the context is difficult because we have to win games and we have a difficult situation now. I pay attention to everything, the way you eat, the way you dress to go to a game. Everything. “I’ll do my assessment.” and then I’ll decide.

“There is communication after the last training. They’re fine. They had training this morning and I was there. They trained really well.”

United have won just one of their three games under Amorim in the Premier League.
