1 dead in four-vehicle crash on Highway 4 in Contra Costa County

CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA – One person was killed in a four-vehicle crash on State Highway 4 west of Pittsburg early Friday, the California Highway Patrol said.

Officers responded to a report of a crash on eastbound Highway 4, east of Bailey Road, around 5:05 a.m., the highway patrol said on social media Saturday.

The victim, the driver of a white Hyundai sedan, was a man who was not wearing a seatbelt, the CHP said. Drunk driving is not believed to be a factor.

The drivers of a blue Toyota Camry and a silver Toyota Camry suffered suspected minor injuries, the CHP said. The driver of a blue Dodge Ram was uninjured.
