At least 10 people were shot when three to four gunmen opened fire on a group standing outside a Queens nightclub hosting a private event on Wednesday evening, the New York Police Department said in an early morning news conference on Thursday .

All victims of the shooting on 144th Street outside the Amazura nightclub – six women and four men – are expected to survive, police said. Authorities are investigating whether the shooting is gang-related. They say there is no connection with terror.

According to investigators, police received several 911 calls about a shooting at the club shortly after 11 p.m. About 90 people were inside, upstairs in a private venue. The venue was packed and there were about 15 people waiting to get in.

According to authorities, at that point, three to four men, believed to be in their mid to late teens to early 20s, approached the group and opened fire on the group standing outside the club. About 30 shots were fired. At least 10 people were hit.

There were no arrests.

“There is zero tolerance for these senseless shootings,” NYPD transportation chief Philip Rivera said at a news conference. “These horrific acts of violence on our streets and those responsible for this crime will be caught and brought to justice.”

On New Year’s Day, a 42-year-old allegedly drove a truck into a celebrating crowd on Bourbon Street in New Orleans, killing 15 people and injuring dozens in what authorities said was an apparent terrorist attack. The suspect was killed in a shootout with police at the scene.
