$2 million Powerball ticket sold for Christmas Day drawing in New Jersey

A $2 million Powerball ticket was sold in New Jersey for Wednesday’s lottery drawing, while no ticket matched all the winning numbers for the $124 million jackpot.

The second-prize Powerball ticket was the only one in the country that matched the five white balls drawn, but not the Powerball.

The lucky winner spent the extra dollar on the Power Play, doubling the prize to $2 million. New Jersey lottery officials are expected to announce later Thursday which store sold the ticket.

The winning Powerball numbers for the Christmas Day drawing were: 15, 26, 27, 30 And 35. The Powerball was 3with a power play by 3X.

The second-prize ticket was the second $2 million Powerball winner sold in New Jersey in less than a week.

A ticket purchased at Lucky 7 Deli and Food Mart on Center Street in Nutley, Essex County, for Saturday’s Powerball drawing also contained five numbers for $2 million.

The jackpot for Saturday’s next Powerball drawing is an estimated $145 million.

The Mega Millions jackpot for Friday’s drawing is currently estimated at $1.15 billion.

The odds of hitting the Powerball jackpot are 292,201,388 to 1. Players who purchase a $2 ticket have a 1 to 11,688,053 chance of matching five numbers.
