What does the 2024-25 FCS bracket look like?

The 2024-25 FCS Playoffs will feature 24 teams, with the top 16 seeds and the top eight seeds receiving automatic byes to the second round. The remainder of the 24-team field (the remaining 16 teams) will play in the first round.

The first round matches are regionalized, with numbers 9 to 16 playing against unseeded teams to allow teams to travel as little as possible. Likewise, the first round will try to avoid meetings with conference teams that have already played against each other.

Minimum bids continue to apply for the staging of games. If the seeded team makes a viable bid in the first round, the higher seeded team will be given the opportunity to host.
