16. Las Vegas Raiders (2-12)

The Kansas City Chiefs are still secure at the top of the AFC standings after Sunday’s win over the Cleveland Browns, but they face new concerns.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported that Patrick Mahomes is “week-to-week sick” with an ankle injury he suffered in that win. Considering that Kansas City faces three teams in the playoffs at the end of the season: the Houston Texans, the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Denver Broncos, No. 1 is no guarantee.

This is especially true given the way Josh Allen plays.

He scored four touchdowns as his Buffalo Bills went on the road and beat the Lions 48-42 after scoring six touchdowns in the previous loss to the Los Angeles Rams. Buffalo ends the game with three straight games against the eliminated New York Jets and New England Patriots, so it would be surprising if it didn’t win.

The Bills also have the tiebreaker thanks to their straight win over Kansas City in Week 11, so the No. 1 seed and the associated first-round bye are still within reach if the Chiefs make a mistake with Mahomes with his injury.

Mahomes and Allen aren’t the only elite quarterbacks to watch down the stretch, as Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals have rattled off two straight wins and are suddenly two behind the Los Angeles Chargers for the final wild card spot after the AFC West The team lost two in a row.

However, Cincinnati needs to win to have a chance, as the Chargers have the tiebreaker thanks to their head-to-head win over the Bengals in Week 11.

But there’s still a chance as long as Burrow and Ja’Marr Chase continue to torch opposing defenses.
