What are the tiebreakers for NFL draft picks?

Draft picks are awarded in order of lowest winning percentage, and the tiebreaker is the opponent’s winning percentage, with the team that played the easier schedule selected first. If teams have equal schedule strength, division or conference tiebreakers will be applied. If the division or conference tiebreakers are not applicable or ties remain between teams in different conferences, ties will be resolved using the following tiebreaker method:

  1. Head-to-head if necessary
  2. Best win-loss-draw percentage in common games (at least four)
  3. Winning strength in all games
  4. Best combined ranking of all teams in terms of points scored and points allowed in all games
  5. Best net points in all games
  6. Best net touchdowns in all games
  7. Coin toss

The 18 non-playoff teams receive the first 18 picks. The six Wild Card round playoff losers receive picks 19-24, the four divisional round losers receive picks 25-28, the conference championship game losers receive picks 29 and 30, and the Super Bowl loser receives pick 31 and the Super Bowl winner gets pick 32.

When will the 2025 NFL Draft take place?

The 2025 NFL Draft will take place Thursday through Saturday, April 24-26, 2025, in Green Bay, around Lambeau Field and the Titletown District. The first round takes place on Thursday evening, the second and third rounds on Friday evening and the fourth to seventh rounds on Saturday during the day.
