3 Chicago is out of Monday Night Football due to a concussion

Chicago Bears left tackle Braxton Jones was demoted for Monday night’s game in Minneapolis due to a concussion and did not travel with the team when it left Halas Hall Sunday afternoon.

Jones was not listed on the Bears’ injury report at any point this week, raising questions about when he suffered the head trauma that preceded his concussion diagnosis.

He is now the third Bears player out for the “Monday Night Football” game against the Minnesota Vikings due to a concussion, joining running back Roschon Johnson and fellow offensive lineman Ryan Bates.

Veteran offensive lineman Larry Borom is the most likely replacement for Jones at left tackle.

Jones missed two games last month with a knee injury and the Bears failed to score a touchdown in both games, resulting in lopsided losses to the Arizona Cardinals and New England Patriots.

Jones missed six games last season with a neck injury that landed him on injured reserve.

In other roster news, the Bears have designated running back Darrynton Evans from the practice squad to improve the depth of their backfield and special teams, with Johnson out and D’Andre Swift (groin) listed as questionable.
