If you’ve looked at your calendars, you know that this is the second-to-last weekend of 2024 and the last before Christmas. While you may need to do some last-minute shopping or errands, Hulu has plenty of movies to keep you entertained when you get home. If you’re feeling particularly festive, you might want to watch the best Christmas movies on Hulu. One of them also landed on our list of three great Hulu movies you need to stream this weekend.

Our first pick of the week is an underrated horror film that hit theaters earlier this year, followed by one of our favorite Christmas films and Hugh Jackman’s greatest musical yet.

Cuckoo (2024)

If you know what a cuckoo bird is, then you might have an idea why the horror movie is like that cuckoo bears the same name. But it’s best to enter this film cold and uncertain, just like Gretchen (Hunter Schäfer), the teenage girl at the center of the story. Gretchen has recently lost her mother when she is forced to move to the German Alps with her father Luis (Marton Csokas), stepmother Beth (Jessica Henwick) and half-sister Alma (Mila Lieu).

Alma is mute and therefore cannot explain why a strange noise is causing her seizures. However, Gretchen realizes that something sinister is going on around her, and at the center of it is her father’s boss, Mr. King (Dan Stevens), and a hooded woman who leaves something unexpected behind.

National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation (1989)

The irony of it National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation The reason it becomes a Christmas classic is because it is not a traditionally heartwarming film and never intended to be. Clark Griswold (Chevy Chase) went a little crazy in the first Vacation movie, but he’s doing a lot better now. And this year, Clark is determined to give his wife Ellen (Beverly D’Angelo) and their children Audrey (Juliette Lewis) and Rusty (Johnny Galecki) a great Christmas experience. He probably would have done the same if in-laws from both sides of the family hadn’t come to their house.

The most outrageous holiday intruder is Cousin Eddie (Randy Quaid), who is technically the husband of Ellen’s cousin Catherine (Miriam Flynn). Eddie only adds more chaos to the household and unfortunately has a tendency to take things too literally. This could come back to haunt Clark sooner than he thinks.

The Greatest Showman (2017)

About seven years before he reprized his iconic Marvel role in Deadpool and WolverineHugh Jackman played the lead role The greatest showmanthe musical Christmas sensation of 2017. The film casts Jackman as PT Barnum, a man whose big dreams simply cannot be contained. As his humble life falls apart, Barnum slowly puts together a circus of acrobats, freaks and wonders.

Barnum’s partner Phillip Carlyle (Zac Efron) soon realizes that he only has eyes for Anne Wheeler (Zendaya), one of the circus’ best performers. But despite their shared feelings, the 19th century doesn’t offer much tolerance for their interracial romance. There’s potential heartache ahead, but also fast-paced musical numbers that make this 20th Century Fox film feel more like a live-action Disney film than anything else.
