49ers QB Brock Purdy gets a perfect score in the first half against the Lions

The game with no playoff implications provided plenty of offensive entertainment.

The San Francisco 49ers built a 21-13 halftime lead over the Detroit Lions at Levi’s Stadium after not a single punt from either team in the first two quarters, while there were touchdowns on their first five possessions and no incompletions in the first two quarters first 25 minutes.

A defense didn’t stop until Lions quarterback Jared Goff threw an incompletion throw on fourth-and-3 at the 49ers’ 8-yard line with 1:13 left in the second quarter.

In a game with 26 first downs, 471 yards and 7.7 yards per play, Niners QB Brock Purdy has a perfect passer rating (158.3). Purdy completed 14 of 16 passes for 200 yards, threw two touchdown passes and had a rushing score of 9 yards.

Detroit’s Goff completed 11 of 13 passes for 138 yards and threw a touchdown on a 42-yard hook-and-ladder play from wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown to wideout Jameson Williams at the 41-yard line changed.

Niners kicker Jake Moody continued his second-half lull by pushing a 51-yard field goal attempt wide of the right net with two seconds left before halftime. Moody has made just 10 of his last 17 attempts.

Eleven months after the 49ers fought for a trip to the Super Bowl in the NFC Championship Game, a dramatic encounter they won 34-31, nothing is at stake on Monday.

The 49ers (6-9) were eliminated from the playoffs in Week 16. The Lions (13-2) must beat the Vikings (13-2) on Sunday to secure the NFC’s No. 1 seed, regardless of Monday’s result.
