San Francisco 49ers offensive lineman Trent Williams lost his twin son 35 weeks after the boy was stillborn, shortly after the other twin died during pregnancy.

Trent’s wife, Sondra Williamsbroke the tragic news on Sunday, December 1, along with videos and photos from their trip.

“👼🏽My forever angel, Trenton O’Brien Williams Jr. 💙,” Sondra shared via Instagram. “💔It was extremely difficult to process the saddest hello and goodbye I have ever had to endure. Last Sunday evening on 11/24/24; At 11:38 p.m. I greeted your lifeless 4 pound 8 ounce 18.5 inch long little body. At just 35 weeks, your impressive and quick arrival, Mom didn’t even have time for an epidural.”

Sondra thanked her sister, Katinawho was by her side throughout the difficult process and even cut baby Trenton’s umbilical cord. In her post, Sondra revealed that Trenton’s loss was due to another tragedy early in the pregnancy.

“🙏🏾As much as I tried to prepare for our meeting, I was neither prepared nor would I ever be,” Sondra wrote. “After losing your twin early in pregnancy, I prayed and hoped that your diagnosis of Trisomy 13 was not true and would not be the fate of my long-awaited beautiful son-shine.☀️”

According to the Cleveland Clinic, trisomy 13 is “a rare genetic disorder in which an extra copy of chromosome 13 attaches to a pair of chromosomes,” affecting the development of the face, brain and heart.

“My firstborn and only son, I always wanted you, but God wanted and needed you more,” Sondra continued. “Knowing that you are with your great aunt Vivian in heaven and will always be our guardian angel 👼🏽 brings me great comfort in the midst of all this grief. My heart is heavy. Being home without you in my arms has been quite an adjustment. Knowing that I will never be able to watch you grow older along with your sisters filled my eyes with tears.😭”

Sondra and Trent share three daughters: Micah, Makayla And Madison.

“I know that you will always be close to me and watch over me and your sisters. 💞👼🏽 And for that my heart smiles with gratitude 💙,” Sondra concluded. “👼🏽Thank God for allowing us to bond for 35 weeks and for giving birth to you so I could hold you in my arms. I have peace of mind knowing that you will never have to suffer. Even though I will never hear your soft coos and cries or see those beautiful little eyes looking up at me, I am grateful to God for the time I spent with you.”

Trent was inactive for the 49ers’ game against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday, officially sidelined with an ankle injury.

The Williams family tragedy comes a little more than a month after Trent’s teammate, the 49ers cornerback Charvarius WardHe announced the death of his 23-month-old daughter. Amani Joy.

“We are heartbroken that our beautiful baby girl, Amani Joy, passed away Monday morning,” Ward wrote on Instagram on October 30. “She was the best blessing we could have asked for and her joyful attitude made us smile from ear to ear.” . She taught us patience, trust and a positive attitude to life. She showed us true strength and bravery.”

A cause of death for Ward’s daughter has not been announced.
