Dan Quinn has his basic right. With excellent work on fundamentals and technique, he single-handedly turned Commanders into a Super Bowl contender. After defeating the Buccaneers in the wild card game, they advanced to division play. The cowboy nation watched in silence. They had beaten both of those teams in the regular season this year with their backup QB Cooper Rush. But Jerry Jones’ franchise couldn’t even qualify for the playoffs.

After the game, former Cowboys legend Dez Bryant took a shot at the Cowboys owner, tweeting, “Dan Quinn turned a once-struggling franchise into a playoff contender, winning his first playoff game…Until Dallas focuses on winning instead of politics…Cowboys fans shouldn’t expect success anytime soon…I’ll tell you straight up…, exactly like I always do…“It sends a strong message about their continued failures.”

It’s his second playoff win against the Buccaneers. As the Cowboys’ defensive coordinator, he helped them defeat the Bucs in the 2022 Wild Card before losing to the 49ers in the divisional playoffs. In 2023, the Packers defeated the Cowboys in the wild card. But after he was replaced by Mike Zimmer, they couldn’t even qualify.

Jerry Jones repeatedly made decisions that made them even more disorganized. He began delayed contract negotiations for CeeDee Lamb and Dak Prescott. While Prescott continued to train, Lamb skipped all minicamps and workouts and only joined after receiving a four-year, $136 million contract.

Even during the season, they lost the Week 10 game against the Eagles. Lamb asked the owner to use curtains during games, but he refused. Nobody understood why he rejected the request, considering that they were often used in concerts and shows. Now he hasn’t given any specific update on the extension for HC Mike McCarthy. But he blocked the Bears’ request to interview him.

Dan Quinn showed talent as the Falcons’ head coach from 2015 to 2020. In his second year as an NFL head coach, he led them to Super Bowl LI in 2016, but lost. On Sunday, January 12th, he made history.
