Terry McLaurin is the heart and soul of the Washington Commanders. On Sunday night, in his first career playoff game, McLaurin caught seven passes for 89 yards, including a touchdown in Washington’s 23-20 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the NFC wild-card round.

It was the Commanders’ first playoff win in 19 years, and it was only fitting that McLaurin, who has been with the team since 2019 and has been through many low points, delivered when his team needed it most.

McLaurin is loved by teammates, fans, coaches and owners.

After Washington’s victory over the Buccaneers, minority owner Magic Johnson was among those who welcomed McLaurin. Here’s what Johnson said about the star wide receiver.

“This man here, Terry, what a year, and I’m so proud of him,” Johnson said, smiling and inviting McLaurin to join him.

The two hugged, Johnson praised McLaurin and his leadership, and the wide receiver told the basketball legend that the job wasn’t done.

“Again, that’s what it’s all about,” Johnson said, referring to McLaurin. Johnson then praised GM Adam Peters, head coach Dan Quinn, all players and managing partner Josh Harris.

Johnson wasn’t the only owner to greet McLaurin, as minority partners Mark Ein and Mitchell Rales greeted quarterback Jayden Daniels and McLaurin as they entered the locker room.

What a night. And as McLaurin said: It’s not over yet.
