Football tips for Tuesday: Bet on Schick to score a 13/2 goalscoring brace

Cody Gakpo (vs Nottingham Forest) stars in our Superboost on Tuesday, with one of the main games of the midweek action kicking off at 8pm, with a top-of-the-table clash taking place.

Gakpo is averaging 1.09 shots on goal per 90 minutes this season and has had at least 1 SOT in seven of 11 games this season. Only Mohammed Salah (21) has scored more goals for Liverpool this season for the Reds than Gakpo (12).

He only needs to have a single shot on target for the super boost to land, and the selection has been strengthened 1/2 To 1/1.

Xabi Alonso was delighted with Bayer Leverkusen’s “serious performance” on Friday as they became the first team to win at Dortmund this season with an impressive 3-2 win.

This means the defending champions have rattled off ten wins in a row, but Mainz are in top form themselves with six out of seven wins – including victories over leaders Bayern and third-placed Frankfurt.

Over 2.5 goals have been scored in 12 of Leverkusen’s 16 games and the average is just under four goals per game – so we should be able to see some entertainment again and there are two in-form strikers to support.

Florian Wirtz is also in fine form, but Czech goalscorer Patrik Schick has been irresistible of late, starting the year in the same red-hot form in which he ended 2024, with two goals against Dortmund in his hour of play.

Schick scored four goals in the last game before the winter break against Freiburg, and he is 1/1 to continue his scoring form with a goal at home against Mainz.

He has now scored in his last six appearances and Mainz will have a really hard time keeping him in this form.

Mainz striker Jonathan Burkardt is one of the main reasons for his club’s challenge in Europe with his twelve Bundesliga goals, which are behind only Omar Marmoush and Harry Kane.

Burkardt scored twice against Bochum at the weekend, opening the scoring in five of his last six games, and Leverkusen have not been watertight at home to say the least, having kept just one clean sheet in six league home games.

Given the form he is in, Burkardt appears to be valuable as a player 3/1 Anytime goalscorer even in this tough away game.
