‘Masterclass’: Bondi turns on Democratic senator after she suggests using Justice Department as weapon

Conservatives celebrated on social media President-elect Trump Attorney General nominee Pam Bondi’s response to a question from Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse, D-R.I., during her confirmation hearing on Wednesday.

“It wouldn’t be appropriate for a prosecutor to start with a name and look for a crime?” Whitehouse said during his questioning. “It’s a prosecutor’s job to start with a crime and look for a name. Correct?”

Bondi responded by highlighting the federal government’s investigation into Trump.

“Senator, I think that’s the whole problem with the weaponization that we’ve seen over the last four years and what happened with Donald Trump,” Bondi said.

Justice will be administered impartially across the country. Senator, we must bring this country back together. We must move forward, otherwise we will lose our country.”

At another point during the conversation with Whitehouse, Bondi said: “Let me give you a really good example of a bad lawyer at the Justice Department, a guy named Clinesmith, who altered a FISA warrant. One of the most important things we can do.” So will this country be subject to an equal justice system when I am the next Attorney General?
