Barcelona’s teenage striker Lamine Yamal was in top form, scoring a goal and providing two assists as they beat Real Betis 5-1 on Wednesday to book their place in the quarter-finals of the Copa del Rey.

After beating rivals Real Madrid 5-2 in the Spanish Super Cup final on Sunday, Barcelona were riding high and didn’t even need their entire arsenal to knock out fellow La Liga side Betis.

Coach Hansi Flick gave several regular players such as Robert Lewandowski, Marc Casadó and Alejandro Balde a break.

They dominated proceedings from the start and it took three minutes for them to take the lead when Gavi scored a low shot following an assist from Dani Olmo.
