The 3 best NBA bets and player props for Heat at Lakers

The 3 best NBA bets and player props for Heat at Lakers

Even within a single NBA game, there are numerous betting markets.

You can bet on traditional markets like the spread or total, but we also have plenty of player prop markets to browse.

Which bets stand out today as the Miami Heat take on the Los Angeles Lakers?

Let’s look at the best bets in FanDuel Sportsbook’s NBA betting odds and use FanDuel Research’s NBA predictions to find value.

Heat at Lakers betting tips

Over 215.0 (-108)

In a meeting between the Miami Heat and the Los Angeles Lakers, the over/under odds are a modest 215.0 – a total that these teams would be happy to surpass tonight.

With Los Angeles and Miami ranking 21st and 27th in pace, it makes sense that we’re looking at a low overall score. However, the Lakers (19th) and Heat (25th) each played a little faster in the last 15 games.

The Heat attempt the ninth-most three-pointers in the league and shoot them at the 12th-best clip. Miami’s offense should be able to take advantage of the Lakers’ defense, which is ranked 24th, heading into the night. This season, the Lakers are giving up 114.3 points per game – good for 11th in the NBA.

Los Angeles ranks 14th in offensive efficiency and 11th in their last 10 games. They score 115.7 points per game at home, in stark contrast to 107.7 points on the road.

When these clubs met in Miami earlier in the season, a total of 227 points were scored in the game, although the Lakers contributed just 93 points after shooting 5-for-22 from behind the arc. numberFire’s NBA game predictions are predicting just over 221 points for today’s game. That over/under ratio of 215.0 seems a bit low in a game with two strong offenses.

Bam Adebayo over 28.5 points + Reb + Ast (-120)

My favorite bet on the over in this game is Bam Adebayo’s combined points, rebounds and assists (PRA).

Adebayo has an average PRA of a cool 30.5 and has achieved a PRA above 28.5 in 56.8% of games – a hair above the 54.5% probability at these -120 odds.

That’s all well and good, but Bam is also facing the seventh-worst defense in the league tonight. He dominates some defenses.

In 17 games against bottom 10 defenses, Adebayo averaged a 34.5 PRA and has exceeded 28.5 PRA at an impressive 76.5% rate (13 of 17 contests).

The Lakers give up the 11th-most points, 13th-most rebounds and ninth-most assists per minute to centers. Earlier this season, Bam collected 31 PRA against the Lakers despite being limited to 25 minutes due to a blowout script. I expect he’ll be back tonight.

Rui Hachimura 2+ made threes (+150)

Rui Hachimura is averaging 1.5 three-pointers per game and has made at least two three-pointers in 50.0% of his games this season. We can immediately see the value of this +150 odds, which implies a 40.0% probability.

Miami coughs up 38.0 3PA every night, which is good for 15th in the NBA. On the road they dropped 39.4 3PA (12th place). In their last 10 road games, they have posted a massive 3PA of 40.3 (fifth best).

Hachimura nets 1.8 against bottom 11 three-point defenses at 3 p.m. He hit at least two triples in 61.5% of games this split (8 of 13).

Rui is shooting three-pointers at an excellent rate of 42.6% and has received even more of a green light from downtown since D’Angelo Russell left town. Our NBA predictions have him making 1.8 three-pointers in this game, which is another reason to bet on these +150 odds.
