MUMBAI: Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan suffered stab injuries after an unknown person entered his 11th floor apartment in Bandra (West) on Thursday and allegedly committed a burglary. Bandra police said the unidentified person fled after attacking Khan when he woke up.
The 54-year-old is out of danger after an operation. Doctors treated the six stab wounds, including one near the spine.

The incident occurred between 2 and 2.30 am when the unknown person broke into the apartment when Khan woke up and heard a noise.

Other family members of the actor were also present at the apartment when the incident occurred.
Khan was taken to Lilavati Hospital in Bandra Reclamation around 3am by his elder son Ibrahim and a caretaker. “He had six cuts caused by a sharp object,” said Dr. Niraj Uttamani, COO of the hospital.

DCP (Zone X) Dikshit Gedam said an unknown person entered the actor’s residence Saif Ali Khan. The actor and the intruder got into an argument. The actor is injured and is being treated. The investigation is ongoing and three people have reportedly been arrested.
“Hearing the commotion, everyone present in the house rushed to the actor. They rushed him to Lilavati Hospital where he underwent treatment,” said a Bandra police officer.
The Bandra police team and Mumbai Crime Branch are investigating the matter. “Investigations are underway to find out how the intruder managed to bypass the security checkpoints at the building or how he crawled from the other side of the building to the actor’s apartment. The team is looking at the CCTV footage inside the building,” police said.

Khan was injured during an attempted break-in at his apartment, said his team, which asked media and fans for patience.
In an official statement released on behalf of the actor, his team said, “There was an attempted break-in at the residence of Mr. Saif Ali Khan. He is currently in hospital and undergoing surgery. We ask the media and fans for patience. It’s a police matter.”
On actor Saif Ali Khan’s health condition, his team issued an official statement; said, “Saif Ali Khan has completed the operation and is out of danger. He is currently in recovery and doctors are monitoring his progress. All family members are safe and police are investigating the incident.”
A statement from Kareena Kapoor Khan’s team said, “There was an attempted break-in at Saif Ali Khan and.” Kareena Kapoor Khan’s residence last night. Saif had an injury on his arm due to which he is in the hospital and undergoing surgery. The rest of the family is doing well. We request media and fans to be patient and not speculate further as the police are already conducting necessary investigations. Thank you all for your concern.”
