NBA releases last 2 minute report for Warriors vs. Raptors

It took a while for the NBA to get around to their Monday games, but they have officially listed the last 2 minute reports for Monday night games. The Golden State Warriors’ heartbreaking loss to former teammate Chris Boucher and the Toronto Raptors qualified for the Last 2 Minute Report, which combs through all the plays in the final two minutes of close games to assess which calls and non-calls were correct or done wrong.

The game had drama, but no controversy. The Warriors went the old-fashioned route and made the game fair and square, and the referees agreed. Of the 14 incidents in the final two minutes that the NBA reviewed, the league office found that all 14 were correctly called or not called.

This also includes Buddy Hield’s three-point attempt in the final seconds. Since the Warriors put the ball in play and were down three, it was reasonable to expect Toronto to foul. Hield shot off very quickly from the start, and while he may have hoped to initiate contact, he didn’t do his best in the end as the ball went off the boards after completely missing the rim. It was the final shot in a tough shooting effort for Hield, who slipped into the starting lineup due to Draymond Green’s absence but shot just 3-for-13 from the field.

The league called the lack of a whistle on Hield’s shot a proper non-requirement and stated: “Barrett (TOR) lawfully contests Hield’s (GSW) jump shot attempt.” Concise and precise.
