Ukrainian drones attacked a Russian oil depot in Voronezh Oblast, the military said

Ukrainian soldiers attacked the Liskinskaya oil depot in Russia’s Voronezh Oblast with drones overnight on January 16, Ukraine’s General Staff reported.

According to the military, the attacked oil depot stored fuel used for the needs of the Russian army.

The statement came after Russian reports of a burning oil depot in Voronezh Oblast.

The village of Liski in Voronezh Oblast is over 150 kilometers east of the Ukrainian border.

During an attack by special forces and other units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces, at least three drones hit the facility and caused a major fire, the General Staff said.

The Kyiv Independent was unable to verify these claims.

The attack comes amid an increase in Ukraine’s drone operations against Russian energy infrastructure.

A Ukrainian drone strike overnight on January 16 also reportedly targeted a Russian gunpowder factory in the village of Kuzmino-Gat in Tambov Oblast.

Ukrainian forces have previously attacked military airfields, oil refineries and ammunition depots in Voronezh Oblast.
