AP Top 25 college football rankings poll released after Week 14

The latest AP Poll Top 25 rankings are in after Week 14 of college football, and there were some upsets after another wild weekend!

People may get upset that their team lost to a rival, but that’s college football in a nutshell! It was a crazy weekend, so there were some big changes in the rankings.

Let’s take a look at the latest AP Poll top 25 rankings after Week 14.

Oregon dominated Washington 49-21, securing an undefeated regular season and will face Penn State in the Big Ten title game. This game was a little close at the start, but the Ducks pulled away.

It was actually Dan Lanning’s first career win over Washington. Not that he’s gotten rid of that monkey, Oregon’s next step is to secure a No. 1 seed.

Texas defeated Texas A&M in their first matchup since 2011. The wait was worth it, at least for the Longhorns. Now they’re fighting Georgia for the SEC title.

A win and Texas could have a case for the No. 1 seed if Oregon loses. Now if they lose, how far will Texas fall?

Penn State shined after Saturday night. Not only did they secure an 11-1 season with a 44-7 win over Maryland, Ohio State lost.

With this loss, Penn State stole the Buckeyes’ berth in the Big Ten Championship Game against Oregon. Sure, the Nittany Lions lost to Ohio State and PSU fans are still angry about it, but they can fix the mistake.

Notre Dame moved west and defeated the Trojans 49-28. So what’s next? The College Football Playoff, of course!

At this point, the Fighting Irish should have a home playoff game in the first round since there is no conference championship to play for. 10 wins in a row? Notre Dame deserves it.

Georgia went into a frenzy Friday night, but didn’t get to experience the rest until Saturday. The Bulldogs beat Georgia Tech 44-42 in eight overtimes!

Now it’s a rematch with Texas in the SEC Championship. A win gives them a bye for the first round. Who knows what loss will do? But it might not knock them out of the playoffs.

Tennessee earned its 10th win of the season with a comeback win over Vanderbilt. It was ugly early, with a 36-23 win. Lost 0:14? Yikes.

Still, the Vols fought back and should have secured a spot in the playoffs with this win. Now Tennessee is playing the waiting game until Selection Sunday.

Ohio State goes down! Again! A fourth straight loss to Michigan seemed unlikely earlier in the week. But man, it happened.

Ohio State shouldn’t miss the playoffs, but the Buckeye faithful can’t be happy with the upcoming seeding. They might even be in the first round.

8. SMU (+1)

With Cal’s elimination, SMU is 11-1 and close to securing a playoff spot. But in college football, there are no guarantees.

The good news is that the Mustangs can get a win and compete with Clemson in the ACC Championship. That should be good for a place in the top four.

Indiana defeated Purdue 66-0 and finished the regular season 11-1. Playoff spot? Yes, it should be secured.

After Ohio State lost to Michigan, it might not be unthinkable for Indiana to win a playoff game in the first round. The Hoosiers will play the waiting game.

Boise State had a more convincing win over Oregon State than the Wyoming game. But this team is still 11-1 and ready for the playoffs as long as they beat UNLV for the Mountain West title.

It’s a rematch and it’s hard to beat a team twice in one year. But hey, Boise State has Heisman contender Ashton Jeanty in the backfield.
