FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) – New England Patriots safety Jabrill Peppers is active for Sunday’s game against the Indianapolis Colts after being removed from the commissioner’s exempt list this week due to his ongoing domestic violence and drug case.

Peppers was back at the Patriots’ facility, participating in practice with his teammates this week for the first time since he was added to the roster on Oct. 9, two days after he was arrested and accused of shoving his girlfriend’s head against a wall and to have choked her.

Peppers, 29, pleaded not guilty in Quincy District Court to assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and possession of a Class “B” substance, suspected to be cocaine. The trial date was set for January 22nd.

The league said this week that its review is ongoing and is not affected by the change in the Peppers’ roster status.

Peppers has played in four games this season and recorded 23 tackles.
