Fantasy football matchups to exploit: Trust Jordan Addison again in Week 13

Optimize your Week 13 fantasy football lineups with these exploitable matchups.

Ridley continued his strong second half of the season in Week 12, catching five of six targets for 93 yards. He has now played five games since DeAndre Hopkins was substituted and has averaged an elite target percentage of 32% in those contests. Since Week 8, Ridley has averaged 14 fantasy points per game, ranking eighth among all receivers, ahead of Puka Nacua and Terry McLaurin. Ridley has benefited from Will Levis playing better over the last month. During that time, Levis is fourth among all QBs, averaging 9.6 yards per attempt.

This week Ridley gets an advantageous duel against the Commanders. According to PFF, Washington ranks 29th in coverage this season and allows the fifth-most touchdowns to wide receivers. The Titans are six point underdogs this week, so there’s an increased chance they’ll play from behind. If so, this could lead to more targets and more production for Ridley. Make sure he’s in your lineup this week.

Addison is coming off a big week against the Bears. He managed 162 yards on eight catches and found the end zone. After that career-best performance, Addison was the No. 1 fantasy receiver all week. He benefited from the Bears focusing most of their attention on Justin Jefferson. This allowed Addison to see numerous one-on-one duels and he took advantage of them.

Addison has now been a top-24 receiver in three of his last four games. He has had two consecutive games with at least eight targets and a touchdown. The most impressive thing about all of this is that he has had so much success despite difficult matchups against the Titans and Bears. But this week Addison finally gets a good matchup. He faces the Cardinals this week, who have the 10th-best passing efficiency per game this season. Last week against the Cardinals, Jaxon Smith-Njigba totaled 77 yards and a touchdown. Expect Arizona to focus most of its attention on Jefferson and for Addison to see plenty of one-on-one duels again. He’s a newbie this week.

Irving had a great game last week against the Giants, who are allowing the most rushing yards per play. We thought he was the best spot of the week in Week 12 and he came through for us. Irving converted 18 touchdowns for a total of 151 yards and one touchdown. He posted his first top-five finish of the season and even saw improvement in his receiving game usage. The Bucs’ rookie ran 59% of the team’s yards, his second-highest mark in a game this season, which resulted in six receptions.

This week, Irving gets another elite matchup against the Panthers. Carolina is allowing the most rushing yards per game and the second-most rushing touchdowns this season. Against the Panthers, opposing backfields are averaging 29.3 fantasy points per game, the most in the league. Even if you’re busy at the running back position, make sure Irving is in your lineup this week.

McConkey is coming off a rare game in which he didn’t lead the Chargers in target percentage. In Week 12, McConkey shot 17% of the team’s goals in a strong matchup against the Ravens. He saw two fewer goals than his teammate Josh Palmer. Still, McConkey led the team with six catches and 83 yards. He’s now averaging 103 yards over the last two weeks and continues to excel as a route runner. Given Quentin Johnston’s drop issues, there’s a chance the Chargers could move McConkey even further forward.

This week the high-profile duels between McConkey and the Falcons continue. The last time we saw Atlanta was in Week 10 before their bye, when they gave up 307 yards and four touchdowns to Bo Nix and the Broncos. According to PFF, Atlanta allows the seventh-most yards per game and ranks 31st in pressures this season; Justin Herbert should get plenty of time to throw this week. McConkey is once again a top-20 option and starts this week.
