NOW YOUR WBAL TV 11 WEATHER FORECAST WITH METEOROLOGIST AVA MARIE. Well, the rain on Thanksgiving may not have been what you were hoping for, but we’re still catching up after a really dry fall. So that was beneficial across the area and it came throughout the morning hours where there was about half an inch of rain in many places TOTAL RAINFALL. So for this month we are not that far behind. We’re about an inch below normal, but that’s much better. We’re through the rest of the fall season, so the ground is now moist just because we caught up this month. BUT WE ARE STILL ALMOST 11 INCHES BEHIND NORMAL RAINFALL SINCE THE EARLY SEPTEMBER. So we’re going to see that we’re going to need several of these little rain events to really help us catch up. NO RAIN IN SIGHT FOR THE NEXT DAY, BUT THE MOUNTAINS WILL HAVE A LITTLE MORE SNOW IF GARRETT COUNTY GET A FEW INCHES MORE SNOW IN GARRETT COUNTY AT LEAST THROUGH SATURDAY, AND THEN ADDITIONAL SHOTS OF SNOW COULD EVEN BUILD AGAIN SUNDAY FROM THE DIRECTION THE MOUNTAINS. So hopefully they will start the ski season a little earlier than in recent years. IT’S CERTAIN COLD OUT THERE AND THEY COULD MAKE A LOT OF SNOW TOWARD GARRETT COUNTY THIS WEEKEND. TEMPERATURES NOW IN THE 40’S AND 50’S HERE IN THE BALTIMORE AREA, BUT THE WIND IS QUITE COOL. It’s blowing over 20 mph. YOU WILL NOTICE THIS WIND WHILE YOU ARE OUTSIDE. Certainly warm clothing layers will fall into the 40s to 30s tonight. BUT WITH DRY WEATHER AND THE WINDS WILL BE A LITTLE LIGHTER TONIGHT, TO ABOUT SIX MILES PER HOUR. It’s late enough this evening to make being outside a little more bearable. However, it will still be a cold night with lows in the 30s heading into the 20s towards Oakland. OVERNIGHT TOMORROW, A SLUMPY DAY WHERE WE’LL HAVE HIGHS ONLY IN THE 40’S AND THE WIND STILL GUSTS OVER 20 MPH, BUT WE’RE EXPECTING COMPLETELY DRY WEATHER. Whether you’re running errands, shopping, or traveling around the region, we’re in for dry weather. SAME CASE ON SATURDAY, SUNSHINE BUT ONLY IN THE 30’S WITH THE HIGH TEMPERATURES. IT WILL BE REALLY SHOCKING TO HAVE THE COLDER TEMPERATURES TOWARD OAKLAND AGAIN AS THEY WILL STAY BELOW FREEZING ALL DAY ON SATURDAY. YOU CAN CONTINUE TO MAKE SNOW THERE FOR THE RAVEN GAME UNTIL SUNDAY. It’s still very cool. IT WAS IN THE 40S THIS AFTERNOON, THEN IN THE 30S AT KICKOFF AND THE LOW 30S AT THE END OF THE GAME. It was still a bit quiet that day. So you have to expect wind chill. WHAT YOU WANT, LOTS OF WARM LAYERS OF PURPLE WHILE YOU’RE AT THE GAME. However, looking at our seven-day forecast, it will remain dry for several days, including next weekend. It just feels a lot colder this time of year. For us it’s more typical to be in the 50s, but I’m seeing daily highs mostly in the 40s and many nights with lows in the 20s. So we’re talking about a hard frost every night. Make sure you prepare things outside and even put away your lawn equipment. REALLY AS I LOOK AHEAD TO NEXT WEEK THE WEATHER IS QUITE CALM BUT THERE IS A SLIGHT CHANCE OF SOME BURNING AND SPRAYING. TUESDAY. SAME CASE ON THURSDAY, JUST MAYBE A FEW STORMS IN THE AREA. If you want to see the snow, you have to go up the mountain
