The Seattle Seahawks remain unbeatable at MetLife Stadium

There are no style points for wins and losses in the NFL, and that statement has never been truer than the Seattle Seahawks’ ugly 26-21 victory over the New York Jets on Sunday. Seattle trailed 14-0 and 21-7 thanks to a sputtering offense and terrible special teams, but scored the final 19 points of the game for a W on the road at MetLife Stadium.

Maybe we should never have sweated this game considering the Seahawks are perfect in this stadium. Sunday’s win increases their record to 7-0.

Seahawks at MetLife Stadium

2011: S 36-25 against the New York Giants

2013: 23-0 vs. Giants

2013 (technically 2014): S 43-8 vs. Denver Broncos (Super Bowl XLVIII)

2016: S 27-17 vs. New York Jets

2017: S 24-7 vs. Giants

2023: S 24-3 vs. Giants

2024: S 26-21 vs. Jets

This is the second reasonably close game the Seahawks have ever played at MetLife. Eli Manning’s pick-six to Brandon Browner in 2011 turned a potential game-winning drive into a game-ending pick-six. Everything else was essentially decided before the two-minute warning.

The Seahawks will not play at MetLife in 2025 and will only do so if they and the Giants both finish tied in their respective divisions this season. That doesn’t seem particularly likely at this point, which is good for 2024, but also means there’s no guaranteed win next year.
