Duval Rundown: Reacting to Trevor Lawrence’s injury and Jaguars’ loss

Check out Episode 37 of Duval Rundown, hosted by Gus Logue.

Gus was joined by 1010XL’s Ryan “Hacker” Green, Mia O’Brien and Tommy McManus for live post-game reaction to the Week 13 clash between the Jacksonville Jaguars and Houston Texans.

The big question in Jacksonville is whether the team should rule out Trevor Lawrence for the rest of the season after he took an ugly late hit and suffered a concussion in the second quarter.

“I mean, it was common knowledge that they were going to be eliminated from the playoffs at some point. I think they are officially out of the playoffs now.*

“What do you really get out of playing Trevor at this point? I don’t know. He’ll be your starting quarterback in 2025, right?

“You don’t need to see anything from Trevor Lawrence. So if that injury, that shoulder is a problem and if that brutal headshot he took has any impact, at this point I can’t see him for the rest of the year.

“Yes. Going into this game I had no problem with him fitting into the suit. But now that they are officially eliminated and he has suffered multiple injuries both this year and last year, I understand, that he wants to play, and he does as a competitor, and I understand that he’s only 25 years old, so he can still develop on the field, but he can also develop off the field.

“Bryce Young and Anthony Richardson sat on the bench for a few games this year and then came back in (and played a lot better). Trevor is certainly not being benched – it has nothing to do with his game, even if he was rusty starting this game – but just for his own sake, his own health and the health of the franchise in the long run definitely got to the point where he should just sit for the rest of the season now.

“Given how ugly the hit was today, I think it’s pretty safe to assume he won’t play next week. At this point, there would only be four games left on Jacksonville’s schedule. I think he might skip the last four.”

*The Jaguars are officially eliminated from the playoffs with a Broncos Win tomorrow night.
