Bills fans support Charvarius Ward after daughter’s death before 49ers game – NBC Sports Bay Area & California

Beyond the Xs and Os on a field or court, sport can bring people together and create beautiful moments.

This is the case ahead of Sunday’s Week 13 game between the Buffalo Bills and the 49ers, when the Bills Mafia got their hands on San Francisco cornerback Charvarius Ward’s charity dedicated to people with Down syndrome and they on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Ward’s 23-month-old daughter Amani Joy tragically passed away last month. She was born prematurely with Down syndrome and has suffered from heart problems since birth.

The post was reposted over 500 times and received nearly 2,000 likes and 130 comments.

The mission of Ward’s charity, Change with Charvarius, is as follows:

“Our organization is dedicated to empowering people with Down syndrome and their families through advocacy, education and research. We strive to promote inclusivity, understanding and support as members of this community reach their full potential and enjoy meaningful participation in society. We strive for nationwide reach in our efforts and aim to develop strong strategic partnerships. Together, these partnerships will create a more informed and inclusive public, ultimately enabling one to have a well-rounded life experience despite their disability and/or socioeconomic status.”

After missing the 49ers’ last three games, Ward returned to the team and fully participated in Wednesday’s practice – a good sign he could play in Buffalo.

During Thanksgiving week, Ward is certainly grateful for the support of the Bills Mafia and fans across the league.

Great performance from everyone.
