Snowfall reports across Michigan, nearly 3 feet in one area so far

While some parts of Michigan are still experiencing snowfall caused by lake effects, other parts are experiencing a lull today. And weakening winds mean less wind and drifts, which caused problems with poor visibility yesterday and contributed to a number of post-holiday accidents on the roads.

The National Weather Service has released a series of snowfall reports from observers and weather stations across the state, showing a fairly good cross-section in the areas where the heaviest snow has fallen since late Thursday. Most major snowfalls are concentrated in the Gaylord area.

The link to the interactive snowfall report map on the NWS website can be found here. Some highlights of the places where the most snow fell:

34 inches: Lake Manuka in Otsego County in northern Michigan

32 inches at Vanderbilt

16.5 inches in Boyne Falls
