Aaron Gordon is getting closer to the Nuggets’ return with an improving injury report

The Denver Nuggets have had an up-and-down start to the 2024-25 season and are currently 10-7 after an away win over the Utah Jazz. Nikola Jokic has played at an MVP level through the first four weeks of the season, but Denver has also had to deal with some injury absences and the impact of recent free agency departures.

One of those injuries was to power forward Aaron Gordon, who has been out since early November with a calf injury. However, the Nuggets recently received some optimistic news regarding his status.

“The Denver Nuggets have upgraded PF Aaron Gordon (calf) to doubtful for Sunday’s game in LA,” Law Murray of The Athletic reported on X.

Murray added that Peyton Watson (adductor) is likely.

Aaron Gordon last played on November 4th and was arguably having the best start to the season of his career before the injury.

Meanwhile, the Nuggets have been a mixed bag overall so far this year. They’ve suffered some extremely frustrating losses, including a recent home demolition at the hands of the New York Knicks, but they’ve also looked extremely impressive at times, most notably in destroying the Los Angeles Lakers on the road. The Nuggets have relied on Nikola Jokic’s herculean stat lines every night so far this year to keep pace in a crowded Western Conference playoff picture.
