Hailee Steinfeld and NFL star Josh Allen announced their engagement in an Instagram post shared on Friday.

The True Grit star, 27, and the Buffalo Bills quarterback, 28, both shared a photo on social media of the moment Allen got down on one knee to propose.

The picture, which showed her framed in an arch of pink roses and surrounded by candles, was captioned with two infinity symbols and the date “11•22•24.”

While the couple still has a ways to go to live up to the Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce hype, their engagement has resulted in an outpouring of congratulations from friends and fans.

May 2023: Steinfeld and Allen are seen together for the first time.

Shortly after rumors surfaced that Allen had split from his then-girlfriend, social media influencer Brittany Williams, the quarterback was spotted with Steinfeld.

In paparazzi photos published by the New York Post, Allen and Steinfeld were seen together in New York City.

The couple was also spotted together and with friends at a sushi restaurant in Chelsea over Memorial Day weekend.

August 2023: Allen addresses speculation about their relationship in a podcast.

When Allen appeared on the “Pardon My Take” podcast, he was asked if he had seen any headlines about him “making out with his girlfriend.”

In response to the taunts, Allen said, “The fact that anyone cares about this still drives me crazy.”

He added that photographers trying to photograph the couple when they are together make him feel “disgusting,” recalling a particular incident where he spotted a photographer “on a boat “hidden to record a private date.

“(I thought) ‘What’s wrong with these people,'” the athlete said, adding that there was “no privacy” during the trip.

October 2023: Steinfeld supports Allen at a Bills game in London.

While on the red carpet before the awards show, Steinfeld avoided elaborating on her relationship with Allen.

According to People, in a since-deleted TikTok video, a reporter asked Steinfeld how she felt about the evening while holding up a Bills jersey — apparently in reference to the fact that Allen was playing a game against the Miami Dolphins that weekend.

Steinfeld replied, “Really good” and walked away before turning around and adding that the shirt was the “wrong number.”

Elsewhere on the carpet, the Oscar nominee addressed rumors of her engagement, telling an E! The news reporter said she was only wearing a ring because she thought it was “really cute.”

To get the actress to open up about her relationship, the reporter asked, “What’s so special about a sporty man?”

“Listen, what’s this not about? Come on,” Steinfeld replied.

July 2024: The couple becomes Instagram official.

Allen Hard started his relationship with Steinfeld with an Instagram post in July.

In a carousel of images captioned “Onward,” Allen shared some glimpses into their romance, including a photo of the couple taken on a balcony overlooking the Eiffel Tower in Paris.

October 2024: Steinfeld speaks about her relationship with Allen in a newsletter.

Steinfeld published a newsletter called “Beau Society” in August and has been communicating with her fans in weekly newsletters ever since.

In an episode that dropped in late October, she talked about how she and Allen avoided a “bad omen” in their relationship.

She recalled how the couple gave each other the same chef’s knife in different colors at Christmas because they loved cooking together.

“After we exchanged our knives, lol, he told me that there is an old wives’ tale that if you give your significant other a knife, you have to pay for it or it means breaking up a relationship. Allen and Steinfeld posted a photo of their romantic proposal to their Instagram followers in November.

Following the happy news, the NFL reposted the picture on X to congratulate the couple.
