A Jefferson County woman’s week-long disappearance leaves the family searching for answers

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Colo. — Jayna Lang told her family she was going to the Outlets in Silverthorne on Nov. 24. Her family has not seen the 46-year-old woman or her vehicle since then. Now they are speaking out and asking for clues that could help them find her.

“We never thought she would be gone and we don’t know where, where she is,” her brother Eric Horvat told Denver7.

Horvat said he last spoke to his sister the day she disappeared a week ago.

“She was supposed to go to Silverthorne on Sunday to check out the factory stores and her job called us and said she didn’t show up Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and now no one has heard from her, spoken to her or…” anything “he said.

Lang was last seen in Littleton before she was scheduled to leave for Silverthorne.

The last text message she sent to her brother was at 11:17 a.m. on November 24, telling him she was going to the branches.

Her family and colleagues at a pet care business in Littleton said her radio silence was completely out of character.

“That was the last communication we had,” Horvat said. “My aunt and her talk every day. Me and her, every few days. So it’s very, very suspicious that my aunt doesn’t hear from her.”

Lang’s family said they loved nature and enjoyed going to the mountains whenever possible.

Now they’re trying to figure out where she went and whether she made it while driving through the mountains in her white 2016 Toyota 4Runner with the Colorado license plate JAYNA.

“Maybe her car is parked somewhere off the road, somewhere where anyone driving this weekend would have seen it,” Horvat said.

The Park County Sheriff’s Office posted a warning on Facebook asking anyone with information about Lang’s whereabouts to contact the agency.

Lang’s family told Denver7 they just wanted her home for the holidays.

“We miss her. Tell her to come home. Call us. Tell us you’re OK,” Horvat said.
