“I’m sorry,” Alaska Airlines says as its website and app face a technical glitch that strands passengers

This is not the first time Alaska Airlines has faced technical problems. In September 2024, flights were grounded at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport due to an IT problem. Additionally, a cybersecurity breach in August 2024 caused widespread flight disruptions.

Alaska Airlines experienced a significant IT issue on Monday that impacted the company’s website, mobile app and operating systems. Passengers had difficulty booking flights and completing check-in, prompting many to express their frustration on X (formerly Twitter).

Several users took to X to share their dissatisfaction with the glitches. One user commented: “You can’t promote Black Friday deals Alaska Air while your website crashes.”

Another wrote: “Alaska Air is having a cyber sale but of course the website is down.”

A third person added: “Alaska Air today: Great sale! But also good luck, because our website doesn’t work.”

Alaska Airlines is addressing the problem

In response to the concerns, Alaska Airlines confirmed the technical issues via X. “We apologize for the inconvenience. Our IT team is aware of the issue and is actively working to resolve it,” the airline responded to a customer.

In another response, the airline recommended that users revisit the site later, adding: “We understand that the content is currently loading very slowly.”
