Paulo Dybala returns to the starting XI alongside Artem Dovbyk, while Claudio Ranieri aims for his first Roma win and welcomes in-form Atalanta players Mateo Retegui and Ademola Lookman.

It starts at 7.45pm GMT at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome.

You can follow the entire build-up and action in the live blog.

The Giallorossi have their fourth manager in 2024 and Ranieri is playing his first home game after a 1-0 defeat at Napoli and Thursday’s 2-2 comeback thriller against Tottenham Hotspur in the Europa League.

That comeback showed the courage they were sorely lacking and Mats Hummels scored the equalizer, giving them a rare start to Serie A here.

Mario Hermoso and Eldor Shomurodov are injured, Nicolò Pisilli is suspended in midfield.

Dybala is ready to play with Dovbyk in attack, but it is a 3-5-2 formation with Stephan El Shaarawy on the bench.

Atalanta have won their last seven games in Serie A and are fresh from Tuesday’s 6-1 win over Switzerland’s Young Boys in the Champions League.

With Fiorentina-Inter suspended due to Edoardo Bove’s medical emergency (a player still owned by Roma and a product of their youth academy) and Lazio losing to Parma, this means that any positive result here will put La Dea clearly in second would be promoted to keep pace with Antonio Conte’s leaders Napoli.

Ederson was suspended during the week and returns here, but Davide Zappacosta, Ben Godfrey and Gianluca Scamacca are still injured.

Charles De Ketelaere put in an incredible performance against Young Boys, scoring two goals, assisting three and completing the trident attack.

Mateo Retegui hopes to add to his record as capocannoniere with Lookman, who was rested in Switzerland.

Coach Gian Piero Gasperini has to watch from the stands as he imposes a two-game ban on the sidelines for dissent.
