The beloved drama and soap opera actor has died

A mainstay of television drama has died.

Wayne Northrop, known for roles on shows such as “Dynasty” and “Days of Our Lives,” died on November 29th. He was 77 years old.

Deadline reports that Northrop has died after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease.

In a statement, Northrop’s wife, Lynn, said: “Six years ago, Wayne was diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer’s disease. He breathed his last in the arms of his family.”

Entertainment Weekly reports that Northrop appeared in more than 1,000 episodes of Days of Our Lives, playing Detective Roman Brady. He appeared regularly on the show between 1981 and 1984 and returned as the character from 1991 to 1994. He later served as Dr. from 2005 to 2006. Alex North up.

Other notable appearances included playing Michael Culhane, the chauffeur in the first and seventh seasons of Dynasty, and Rex Stanton in the series Port Charles.

Northrop was born on April 12, 1947 in Sumner, Washington. A graduate of the University of Washington, he later enrolled at Seattle Community College to study acting.

He has appeared in many other series, including “The Waltons,” “LA Law,” and “Cold Case.”

Wayne is survived by his wife Lynn, sons Hank and Grady, and stepmother Janet Northrop.
