“The View” co-host Whoopi Goldberg scolded co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin on Monday for saying President Biden lied about plans to pardon his son Hunter Biden.

“I have a problem with lying about it. I wanted to ask (Biden) here when he appeared on ‘The View,’ but I thought he had said so many times that he wouldn’t pardon him. That’s it for me I felt bad for Karine Jean-Pierre; “She had to say that he wouldn’t forgive him, and I know a lot of us like Joe Biden. I think it’s disappointing and bad for us institutions,” Griffin said during the discussion.

“I respect it as a parent. I understand why he would do it, but I wanted to understand why he lied about it for so long?” Goldberg interjected: “I would stop calling it a lie.”

Biden announced in a statement on Sunday that he would pardon his son, although he has repeatedly said he would not pardon Hunter.

Griffin responded, “Why do you keep saying you won’t do that and yet you do? The half of the country that doesn’t support Biden and can’t make phone calls sees a system that only benefits. “What precedent does that set?”

Goldberg then pointed to President-elect Donald Trump’s victory, saying, “We elected someone who was in a similar situation, who didn’t have a drug problem, who knew what he was doing. Who clearly stood up and said, ‘I can do that.’ “Do this” and he did it.”

Goldberg argued that the president likely had no intention of pardoning Hunter but changed his mind after Trump won.

“I think he said, ‘Why am I busting my ass to stand up straight and do this when no one else is doing it? When no one else does?’” she said.

Griffin said she wished the president had been honest with the public.

“Can you see it. He is the president, the acting president, and he can do whatever he wants until his time is up,” Goldberg added.

“Today I signed a pardon for my son Hunter,” Biden said in a statement on Sunday. “From the day I took office, I said I would not interfere in the Justice Department’s decision-making, and I have kept my word, even as I watched my son be selectively and unfairly prosecuted became.”

The president said Hunter was “treated differently” by prosecutors.

The co-hosts of “The View” repeatedly called on Biden to pardon his son, citing Trump’s victory.

Co-host Sunny Hostin said Hunter was only charged because his last name was Biden.
