Bills’ Mack Hollins shows up barefoot to play in icy, snowy game

Bills wide receiver Mack Hollins sent a shiver down his spine Football on Sunday evenings spectators when he showed up to their snowy game in Buffalo without shoes. Yes, we’re talking skin to snow.

Wearing a wintery all-white outfit, Hollins, 31, was conspicuously sans any footwear when he arrived at Highmark Stadium on Dec. 1.

According to Complex Sports, Buffalo recorded a temperature of just 31 degrees when players entered the stadium.

Some comments expressed concern that Hollins could get frostbite if he died Cool The game day look went viral online, while others teased the wide receiver for his “gross” hygiene and “idiocy.”

But Hollins has spoken about his decision to go barefoot multiple times before his Dec. 1 performance sent fans into an uproar.

In a February 2023 interview with NBC, Hollins said he had been “shoeless” for about four to five years and admitted that he had been “forced out of places” that required shoes.

Hollins told NBC that he believes “everyone should be barefoot” and that he washes his feet “constantly” for anyone concerned about his hygiene.

“It’s so funny that people look at me like that because shoes are definitely dirtier than feet,” Hollins added, according to NBC.

However, running barefoot isn’t Hollins’ only quirk.

In June 2024, Hollins discussed his unique personality in a Spectrum Sports Net profile. “Going without shoes, having wild hair, eating with your hands instead of utensils, things like that don’t bother anyone. That’s me,” he said.

“That makes me happy. Do the things that make you happy in life. Like I said, life is too short to worry about what other people think,” the wide receiver added.

And during training camp this season, he said Sports Illustrated that walking barefoot has several health benefits.

Hollins listed: “Foot strength, knee strength, ankle strength. Release electrons from the body, making you feel more grounded. They are cleaner. They move faster. You strengthen the entire body, including your knee.” “You no longer have to withstand as much pressure and your ankle is more developed.”

“Shoes are a tool,” he continued. “You wouldn’t walk around with a hammer just because you might nail something every now and then. Why walk around in shoes just because you might step on something every now and then?”
