Ariana Grande reveals why she will NEVER do The Voice again despite the success of Wicked

Ariana Grande has no plans to return to NBC’s “The Voice” as a coach.

After previously serving as a judge and mentor on the music competition show in 2021 alongside John Legend, Blake Shelton and Kelly Clarkson, the 31-year-old “Wicked” actress revealed why she would be hesitant to ever return to performing.

“I formed such an emotional bond with everyone. That’s my problem. “I can’t really do that because I’m really coming in,” she said on the “Las Culturistas” podcast.

The 7 Rings hitmaker continued: “I really get along with everyone. “I love everyone so much. “I love meeting people and I felt very involved.”

Grande formed a close bond with many contestants on her season and even invited her The Voice team members Holly Forbes, Jim Allen and Sasha Allen to her family’s Thanksgiving dinner in 2021.

Forbes said at the time: “The most unexpected thing about Ariana” for her is “how big her heart is.”

“You know, she’s always checking on us. “We had the opportunity to meet some of her close family and friends and she is so loving towards everyone,” Forbes told People.

“People might have opinions about her, and I didn’t know what she would be like as a person at first, but she’s just incredible,” Forbes added. “It was unexpected to meet someone of her celebrity status who is so genuine and kind.”

Singer Raquel Trinidad also told the outlet that she was “pleasantly surprised at how incredibly friendly Ariana is — to the point of getting text messages from her.”

“We talk to her like she’s been a friend for years,” Trinidad said. “I can text her and say, ‘Hey, does that sound good?’ She’s so honest with us and will tell us, ‘We need to fix this.’ I really didn’t expect to find such a lifelong friend .

Ryleigh Plank, who was also a member of Team Ariana, praised Grande for teaching her to “be okay with imperfection.”

“She really opened my eyes to being less critical of myself,” Plank said. “I love exploring and pushing the limits, but sometimes you don’t always manage to do everything perfectly.” But she has created a wonderful environment for exactly that. “I’m really grateful for the amount of reality she brought to the show.”

Although she has no plans to return, Legend previously said on The Voice that Grande is “very talented.”

In 2021, Grande admitted the job was harder than she imagined.

“You watch it on TV and you think, ‘Okay, I’m going to go in there and it’s going to be easy,'” she told E! News. “But it’s so hard. (The other coaches) are so experienced and so great at it.’

During an interview on The Kelly Clarkson Show, she also admitted that she broke almost “every rule” in her contract.

“I talk to them all all the time. I DM them. They say, ‘You shouldn’t do that.’ And I say, ‘I’m sorry,'” she confessed.

She was announced as Nick Jonas’ successor in May 2021.

“I’ve been a huge fan of the show for so long,” she said in a statement at the time. “I can’t wait to compete with the incredible coaches, meet these new artists and help take their craft to the next level.”
