  • Jamie Lee Curtis shared a makeup-free selfie to mark his 66th birthday.

  • “Just out of the shower,” she wrote.

  • She was inspired by Pamela Anderson, who largely avoids makeup in public to honor her authentic self.

Jamie Lee Curtis recently turned 66 and shared a Pamela Anderson-style makeup-free selfie to celebrate.

The Oscar-winning actress has previously shared her thoughts on aging and natural beauty: She’s all for it (and that goes for PamAn too, as evidenced by her many makeup-free red carpet appearances). So it only makes sense for Curtis to be naked every now and then. Why not on her birthday?

In the new photo she posted to Instagram, she wore a cozy cable-knit turtleneck and smiled softly. “Just out of the shower selfie. I salute @pamelaanderson @lastshowgirl and her unvarnished confidence,” she wrote. “Sober. Strong. Lasts.”

She continued, expressing her excitement for another lap around the sun. “Let’s do F&@KING GO 66!” she said. If you look closely at her eyes, you may notice a small dark spot. “It looks like I put on mascara,” she wrote, “which is clearly a leftover from yesterday at work. Apparently mom didn’t wash her face very well.”

Still, it’s Curtis’ effort that counts. And her followers were quick to point out that she was still beaming. “You are so real and beautiful,” one person commented. “Radiant 🎂,” another added. “You were and are a beacon of light and inspiration! Thank you for being beautiful every day,” another wrote.

When it comes to all aspects of growing older, Curtis “try[s]to master it all,” she said in January while promoting her children’s book. Only Sleep again. “Isn’t that what life should be?” she continued. “We grow up, we learn, we do all these things. Now we have to own it. We must acknowledge who we are, be who we are, and fully come to terms with who we are and what we are not. And I think that’s the beauty of me right now: owning it.”

Runny mascara, bare skin, candid comments and all.
