How Jamie Lee Curtis honored her friend Pamela Anderson’s no-makeup movement

Jamie Lee Curtis knows how to be a supportive friend.

On Friday, November 22, the actress celebrated her 66th birthday by sharing a cheeky Instagram photo in honor of it The Last Showgirl Co-star, Pamela Anderson’s makeup-free movement.

“Just out of the shower selfie. I salute @pamelaanderson @lastshowgirl and her unvarnished confidence. Sober. Strong. Continuously,” she wrote of the movement that began after Anderson, 57, stepped out makeup-free at the Isabel Marant Womenswear Spring/Summer 2024 show during Paris Fashion Week.

The post showed the Oscar winner smiling from ear to ear as she looked directly into the camera in a white turtleneck.

“Let’s F—— GO 66! I just noticed that it looks like I’ve been applying mascara, which is clearly a leftover from yesterday’s work day. “Obviously mom didn’t wash her face very well,” Curtis continued in the caption.

The Last Showgirl follows Anderson as Shelley, a veteran showgirl in her 50s who is faced with making difficult decisions about her future after her Las Vegas show abruptly ends after 30 years.

“Emotionally weak, Shelley tries to reconnect with her daughter, whom she barely knows, which proves to be as difficult as losing the only job she ever had. She is supported by her best friend Annette (Curtis), a brash cocktail waitress who laughs a little too loudly and too often Shelley has to find her place in a world that she closed the (stage) door to years ago it continues in a table of contents.

At the film’s premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in September, Curtis further praised Anderson, telling PEOPLE that she “did the movie because she was going to be in the movie.”
