British Airways brings traditional Christmas to heaven – on board

British Airways is hosting an original British Christmas feast this year, bringing a seasonal menu and festive gifts to its cabins throughout December.

From the airport, customers will find festive pop-up stalls in Heathrow and Gatwick, offering chocolates from Harry Specters and The Cocobean Company in the club lounges and hand-crafted baked goods from Biscuiteers in the Concorde Room. Additionally, guests can also sample a limited edition 45-year-old Scotch whiskey from Talisker in the Concorde Room from December 23rd to 25th. Available in all British Airways Heathrow lounges, the airline also offers mince pies, brie and cranberry sandwiches and a Christmas cocktail and also offers a Christmas gift wrapping service in British Airways paper.

“Christmas is a very special time and this year is no different. “We want to make it extra special, so we’ve pulled out all the stops to spread some cheer and create a truly British original Christmas,” said Calum Laming, Chief Customer Officer at British Airways. “To our customers, wherever you travel and however you celebrate, we hope you enjoy the special attention from our incredible colleagues as you travel this festive season. We wish you all a Merry Christmas!”

Festive beverage options are available to passengers onboard, including Twinings Christmas Tea and BrewDog Hoppy Christmas IPA. An afternoon tea with chocolate éclair, fruit cake and winter cocktail, as well as Cartwright is also available in First and Club World classes and Butler’s Fudge as an additional gift for Club World.

First Class customers will receive a limited edition Alice Temperley Amenity Set and a collectible Christmas bauble will be distributed between December 23rd and 25th. To match the festive theme, the cabin will be decorated with special headrests and a Christmas channel will complement the onboard entertainment.

The seasonal menu is a traditional British turkey dinner with sides, with a vegetarian option also available. World Traveler customers will receive a Santa hat with their meals between December 15th and 27th. Peggy and Leon activity sheets and festive chocolate are available for children. A mailbox for letters to Santa Claus will also be installed in the airline’s lounges in Terminal 5.

There’s no shortage of fun on short-haul flights, with a selection of festive treats including Tom Kerridge’s Ultimate Turkey Celebration Sandwich, The Jolly Hog’s Pigs in Blankets bun, sweet treats from Pullins Bakery and a selection of drinks Eleven lager beers from Brewdog and Vodka Raspberry Spritz from Bottlegreen Edwards.
