Jameis Winston’s late pick-six could net millions of dollars as NFL bettors win big

The bookies felt bad when they saw the Jameis Winston Experience on Monday.

Public bettors were thrilled when Winston hit a late pick-six to cover the Denver Broncos in their 41-32 victory.

Three of the major legal online sportsbooks report to the Post that the Broncos -6.5 received at least 74 percent of the money on each of their books just before kickoff.

DraftKings reported that 74 percent of the money was on Denver -6.5, while ESPN BET had a similar value at 74.6 percent and BetMGM took 79 percent of the money on the Broncos against the spread (ATS).

The Broncos led 31-25 heading into the fourth quarter before the Browns scored a touchdown to take a one-point lead. Denver countered with a field goal and took a 34-32 lead with 2:54 left.

Winston, who finished the game with 497 passing yards, threw a quick out route to Browns receiver Elijah Moore, but the pass was skipped by Ja’Quan McMillian, who jumped into the air for the interception.

Moore appeared to have given up on the play as he was out of bounds, allowing McMillian to get up after falling during the interception and return it 44 yards for a touchdown.

Winston gave Denver a scare late when he drove to the Broncos’ two-yard line with under a minute left, but he threw another interception.

The bizarre series of events gave the Broncos cover in every way, regardless of what number they were given.

The line initially started at 5.5 in favor of the Broncos, but strong betting interest in the home team led to further movement before closing at 6.5 on most deals.

DraftKings alone probably had millions of dollars on the line with this interception, which would have been fine if Moore had just made contact with McMillian.

Since McMillian wasn’t touched, he was able to run it into the end zone, a shocking turn in a wild game that saw plenty of points on both sides.

The total score for the game was 41, and the teams surpassed that mark less than five minutes into the second half.

Over 41 was another poor result for DraftKings, with 56 percent of the money backing that bet.
