Derek Hough joins Carrie Ann and Bruno in making fun of the past DWTS outbreak

Derek Hough gets involved in the fun of past scenes Dancing with the stars goes viral.

In a video shared via Instagram on Monday, November 25, Hough, 39, reposted a clip of a confessional with his Season 6 partner Shannon Elizabeth from 2008. (The show no longer has any confessional reactions.)

“Are you coming to our hot event? “What about the heel leads that are happening out there?” Hough said as Elizabeth dabbed her eye with a tissue. “What about the heel leads, the feet coming off the ground, the horrible insane lines people are doing out there? And you give them 9s and 10s. Are you kidding me?” The text above the video read: “Derek getting mad at the judges.”

While filming a video clip today, Hough aired his grievances to the judges Bruno Tonioli – who looked shocked by the tirade – and Carrie Ann Inaba.

“After 15 years I was finally able to tell them to their faces how I really feel! 😂😂. Let’s put it this way: The beginnings of @dancingwiththestars were a little more dramatic 🎭 and intense 🔥 than today,” Hough captioned his upload. “Nobody knows more about disagreeing with the judges than Baby Derek. 😂.”

Hough quickly received laughter from past and present DWTS Pros in the comments section of his post.

“Crazy lines 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣,” Emma Slater wrote while Maksim Chmerkovskiy added, “lol.” Hough’s sister, JulianneHe replied, “Ooooooh baby Derek hahhaa 😂,” and his wife Hayley Erbert Houghchimed in: “Watching you get mad when you look like a 12 year old boy is pretty entertaining 😂😂♥️.”

A season after Hough’s breakout, he won the Mirrorball Trophy with his Season 7 partner Brooke Burke. Hough won the coveted competition in season 10 Nicole ScherzingerSeason 11 with Jennifer GreySeason 16 with Kellie PicklerSeason 17 with Amber RileySeason 21 with Bindi Irwin.

Dancing With the Stars pulled out all the stops to honor the late judge Len Goodman on the Tuesday, October 24 episode. Former professionals Maks Chmerkovskiy, Karina Smirnoff, Mark Ballas, Kym Johnson-Herjavec, Tony Dovolani, Anna Trebunskaya, Louis van Amstel and Edyta Sliwinska returned to the performance, which also featured all of the season’s professional dancers (…)

After his successful run as a professional on DWTSHough became a replacement member of the jury in 2020 Len Goodman. Hough has since remained in his post alongside Tonioli (69) and Inaba (56).

After the premiere of the 33rd season of DWTSprofessional Gleb Savchenko made a comparison between Hough and the late Goodman while speaking exclusively to him Us weekly – but Hough doesn’t see it. (Goodman died in April 2023, less than a year after stepping down from his role DWTS.)

“I wish I was as good as Len,” Hough said exclusively Us in September. “(He is) absolutely irreplaceable. … His phrases and his ‘Lenisms’ were simply iconic.”

Hough explained that he tries to follow in Goodman’s footsteps and “talk a little bit more about the details,” but noted that it can be challenging given the time constraints of speaking with each couple.

“It’s always hard, especially in the first few weeks because you have so little time to say anything,” he said. “I feel like I’m rushing it and trying to get it in.”

The three hour one Dancing with the stars The season finale airs Tuesday, November 26th at 8pm ET on ABC and Disney+. The episodes can be streamed the next day on Disney+.
