“I’m shitting my pants.”…maybe I’ll stop’

Comedian Bill Maher said on a podcast that he was tempted to leave his show, citing the prospect of a second term for President-elect Trump.

“I’m shitting my pants,” Maher said. “I mean, maybe I’m quitting because I don’t want to do anything anymore – I did it with Trump. I did all the Trump stuff before anyone else.”

“I called him a fraud in front of everyone. I said, ‘He’s a mafia boss.’ I was the one who said he wouldn’t allow the election,” Maher said. “I did it.”

Maher’s guest, Jane Fonda, asked Maher why Trump was “so hostile” toward comedian Jimmy Kimmel and “not toward you.”

Maher retorted: “He is very hostile towards me. He tweets about me every week.”

“Every week he ‘accidentally’ watches my show,” Maher continued with quotes, saying the president-elect referred to him as a “low-ratings loser.”

“But I mean, I’m just bored,” Maher added.

Maher: Democrats lost because of an ‘anti-common sense agenda’

Fonda, a longtime progressive activist and Hollywood actor, suggested that Maher “find a new thing that he can do that Trump can’t do,” but Maher said that wasn’t feasible.

“The show is the politics. “There is no other thing,” Maher replied. “And he will dominate the news like he always does.”

Maher signed a deal with HBO earlier this year to renew his show “Real Time” for two more seasons through 2026.

Maher had his first special on the network in 1989 and regularly makes headlines with his commentary on politics, policy and current events.
