OJ Simpson’s former bodyguard claims to have recording of murder confession

Police in Minnesota may have a recording of OJ Simpson’s confession to the 1994 double murder of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman, obtained as part of a search warrant in a separate investigation.

According to TMZ, the recording is said to be on a USB stick that belonged to the accused murderer’s former bodyguard.

Police believe Simpson may also have implicated a possible unknown accomplice in this recording, which the Daily News cannot verify.

The USB drive is said to be in the custody of Bloomington police, but the contents of the drive are still under investigation, according to documents cited by TMZ. Simpson’s attorney told the outlet that he could not comment on the authenticity of the hard drive in question.

The search warrant was reportedly for the contents of a backpack belonging to Iroc Avelli, who worked for Simpson sometime before the disgraced NFL star’s death. Avelli’s lawyer reportedly told Los Angeles police that the ride included Simpson’s taped confession.

Avelli’s backpack was reportedly seized as part of an investigation unrelated to the double murder, but details of that case were not disclosed.

Simpson was famously charged with the murder of his ex-wife and her acquaintance, but was eventually acquitted in 1995.

Simpson was 76 when he died of cancer earlier this year. He went to his grave and protested his innocence. No other suspects were ever named in the gruesome murders.
