Early Wednesday morning, the earthquakes in the Telugu states left residents in panic and fear as tremors were felt in several districts. According to the reports, a magnitude of 5.3 on the Richter scale hit Telangana’s Mulugu at 7:26 am.

Tremors were felt in Vijayawada, Jaggayapet and nearby villages. Minor tremors were reported in Tadithota and Morampudi areas of Rajahmundry. Similar incidents were witnessed in Chintoor division with minor tremors occurring in villages in Koonavaram, VR Puram and Etapaka mandals.

Nujiveed and Dwarakathirumala areas reported tremors, with items falling off shelves in some houses due to the vibrations. Minor earthquakes occurred in Prathipadu in Kakinada district and parts of Mylavaram constituency, including Reddygudem, Nandigama and Kanchikacharla mandals.

Warangal town and surrounding areas experienced minor tremors and residents ran away in fear. The tremors lasted for a few seconds and caused confusion among locals. Earthquakes were reported in Kothagudem town and Manuguru sub-district, with tremors occurring between 7:27 a.m. and 7:28 a.m. Gangaram in Mahabubabad district experienced stronger vibrations, causing some people to fall from their chairs.

Parts of Hyderabad including Borabanda, Rahmat Nagar, Karmika Nagar and Yusufguda reported mild tremor.

However, there have been no reports of casualties or major damage so far and further details are expected.
