The mystery of the skeleton crew in Attin has already been solved

Skeleton Crew premiered last night with two episodes on Disney Plus, another attempt at an original series that has no direct connection to the Skywalker saga other than being close to the timeline of Return of the Jedi.

It’s a strong start and it certainly seems like a less controversial series than the similarly disjointed series The Acolyte. It’s Star Wars Goonies. How can you hate Star Wars Goonies? But yeah, it was funny and well written. It’s a good start.

It also features a somewhat creative central mystery, in which the children in question come from the suburban section of a planet called At Attin, something we’ve never heard of in the lore before and which is apparently some sort of lost treasure planet the rest of the galaxy believing it is a myth.

So what’s going on here? Well, even if only two of these episodes air, part of this mystery can be solved more or less immediately. Spoilers follow.

While there are probably more points to consider here, the main idea is that there are a number of signs that Attin is some sort of bubble planet, frozen in the High Republic period, the end of it Era and the entire Empire missed out on the /Rebellion saga, and even though it looked like it was being ruled by the New Republic, that was just that impliedand probably not the truth, because:

No ships can enter or leave -The security robots seemed surprised that Wim’s father was even talking about a spaceship, and they said that was against the planet’s protocol, as was crossing the “barrier.” So, bubble planet. Hidden planet.

Old Republic Credits – The kids use Old Republic credits that are clearly much more valuable than today’s currency, such as trying to pay with gold bullion coins for something that costs quarters. It stands to reason that if this currency is standard on Attin, it adds to the whole “lost in time” aspect.

The great work – That confirms it if you know what that is. The Great Works are a series of projects undertaken during the High Republic under Supreme Chancellor Lina Soh, apparently a ruler who no longer exists hundreds of years later. Some of this work included the creation of the Starlight Beacon space station, the creation of the Republic Fair, the manufacturing of communications relays, and a variety of other technological advances. “Great job” is used singly here, so it’s clearly referring to a specific one, although we don’t know which one.

With this in mind, you can now notice little things. Wim idolizes Jedi, who are not just ancient legends, but Jedi who he believes are currently fighting battles across the galaxy, since this planet clearly missed Order 66.

This cannot remain a mystery for long. Now that the children are in the world, they will find that they are in a completely different time. what is not It’s clear why Attin is considered a lost treasure planet and what might be stored there. Obviously it was hidden for a reason, but for what reason? What is the Great Work that the High Republic sought to hide, and is there more? So secrets remain.

Great start to the series and I’m already invested. I look forward to more next week.
