Draymond Green is out, Steph Curry likely for Warriors vs. Nuggets

After narrowly falling short against the Phoenix Suns on Saturday, the Golden State Warriors will look to get back on the winning streak tonight and stop the bleeding of a four-game losing streak. It is also Golden State’s final game in the group stage of the Emirates NBA Cup, although the Dubs have already won West Group C.

Neither team is at full health, but the Warriors appear to be more weakened than the Nuggets. Here is the full injury report.

Out of — Draymond Green (left calf tension)

During the two days off, concerns grew that Green would not be able to play in that game, and on Tuesday he was officially ruled out. It will be the first game the All-Star misses this season.

Out of — De’Anthony Melton (left ACL sprain)

No news on the Melton front. He’s out for a year and the Warriors will certainly consider using his contract in a trade, but that’s not possible yet.

Probably — Steph Curry (bilateral patellofemoral knee pain)

After missing a game last week, Curry returned on Saturday, although he appeared injured for at least the first half of the game. It looks like he should be ready to play tonight and I hope he moves well.

Nuggets

Out of — Vlatko Čančar (left knee sprain)

It was a few years full of disappointments for Čančar. He missed the entire 2023-24 season due to injury and has only played four games this year. Unfortunately, he has no timetable for his return.

Out of — DaRon Holmes II (right Achilles tendon repair)

It was also a bad year for Holmes, who tore his Achilles tendon shortly after the Nuggets selected him in the first round of the 2024 draft. He will have to wait until next season to make his NBA debut.

Probably — Aaron Gordon (right calf strain)

A calf injury cost Gordon 10 consecutive games in November, but he returned to the pitch on Sunday after coming off the bench. Denver is certainly hoping the ultra-athletic Bay Area native can stay on the court for the rest of the year.

Probably — Peyton Watson (right adductor strain)

Watson has emerged as a key contributor for the Nuggets in his third NBA season. He played in all 18 of the team’s games, starting 11 of them, while averaging 9.9 points per game, the highest of his career.

Enjoy the action, Dub Nation!
