Caitlin Clark fans take issue with Paige Bueckers’ viral attitude

If there’s one colleague who can compare to the superstar status that Caitlin Clark has achieved in recent years, it’s UConn Huskies star Paige Bueckers.

Clark and Bueckers’ respective careers have always felt somewhat intertwined, especially since they entered college at the same time, competed for the nation’s top honors as freshmen and faced off against each other multiple times in crucial NCAA games.

The fan comparisons between these two legendary guards have continued, even though Clark is now in the WNBA while Bueckers is in her (probably) final season at UConn.

The most recent viral case of this occurred when a fan created a video praising Bueckers (while throwing a few stray shots in Clark’s direction), which caused quite a stir on social media.

Sports media personality Mariah Rose (@mariahcrose_) posted a three-minute-plus X-video with the caption, “Why everyone LOVES Paige Bueckers 👀,” in which she said in the first few seconds, “(Bueckers) was basically Caitlin Clark before .” Caitlin Clark.

One fan commented on the video by posting a photo of Clark writing the caption, “Dear Diary, everyone is obsessed with me” on a piece of paper. The caption of her post read: “Trying to sneak Caitlin hate in here.”

Another fan posted a screenshot of Clark and Bueckers’ freshman stats (of which Clark was superior) and wrote, “Caitlin Clark ahead of Caitlin Clark.”

“You could have said all of this without mentioning Caitlin Clark. Tell Paige not to turn her back on the inbounder ♥️,” a third fan wrote, referencing a play in the aforementioned Final Four game where Clark took an inbounds pass from Bueckers’ ball. back.
