The Baltimore Ravens could cut the former Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver

It certainly doesn’t sound like Diontae Johnson’s tenure in Baltimore is going well. After being traded to the Baltimore Ravens five weeks ago, Johnson’s future with the team remains uncertain as he appeared to be underwater against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Starter Rashod Bateman was out with a knee injury, but it was Tylan Wallace and Nelson Agholor who took all the snaps, not Johnson. That has led to speculation about what is going on with Johnson, and it appears that this could be a situation that could end his time in Baltimore.

When asked Monday what was going on with Johnson, head coach John Harbaugh gave a cryptic answer.

“At the moment I have to wait. There are some moving parts that we need to figure out and explore to see where we stand. This is the best I can do out of fairness to everyone,” Harbaugh said.

The Steelers traded Johnson to the Carolina Panthers this offseason. Donte Jackson was signed to the Steelers as part of this deal and has a team-leading five interceptions.

Considering how little the Panthers got out of Johnson and Johnson now having a nightmare season in the final year of his contract, it seems like the Steelers made the right move.
